Last Tuesday, we shared with our prayer team (Join by CLICKING HERE) some about the opportunities ahead, and we asked for prayers for clarity from God. We are hearing from God about a great many things, but the pieces are not aligned quite yet. We prayed all day on Tuesday, and really did not get any more clarity. Wednesday, however, receiving the emails from people on our prayer team and even one person here in Lebanon who receives our prayer letters was when we really felt at peace about the lack of clarity. We don’t know what the next step is after Kyrie’s surgery, but we have faith that God will tell us. With so many things in transition right now, as we focus on one thing at a time, the plan will become apparent in God’s timing.
As we report this week on answers to prayer, that peace and calm is an answer for this one. It just isn’t the poetic wonderful answer that will help us cast vision with all of you praying for us. That just means we’ll all have to keep praying. We have scheduled a prayer and fasting week for each quarter of the coming year, all set around what we are calling “hinge” moments. Kyrie’s surgery is the first hinge, something that the trajectory of our lives pivots around. When we return we will have a fresh start to the way in which we are accepting vision trips, and several new interns, providing the second hinge, where we test out some things making us more autonomous and increasing our authority in the vision of teams visiting Beirut. The third hinge is the upcoming Horizons Eastern Staff Summit here in Beirut. The fourth hinge is this summer fundraising trip. With those placeholders already on the calendar we know that God will provide the details in between those big moments.
As always, thank you for replying, sharing your prayers, and being present in our community.
